Macbeth Collection

I think I need this.  Scratch that...want it.  Wouldn't it be precious in Parker's room in a much more muted design with his initials (because you can't have too many of those)?  I could corral diapers, wipes and all sorts of handy little things in here.  This adorable little tub is from The Macbeth Collection.

It is $52 with the monogram.  Ouch.  For a bucket.  Maybe not.

Etsy Find!

Life is crazy 'round here.  We are furnishing, decorating and trying to get life back to normal these days.  Whatever normal may be!  I wanted to take a minute to share one of my latest Etsy purchases.  I have to credit MC with this purchase, it was really her find (thanks seester!).  Check out our wall in our new little office nook...

Aren't these fabulous?  So sorry for the poor picture quality - not sure what was going on here.  LittleBlueBirdStudios has these really neat Vintage Dictionary Art prints.  There are many, many to choose from and are super affordable art - especially when popped into Ikea Ribba frames like I did above.  With our new space and furniture placement, our walls are very bare so interesting art on the cheap is key right now.  Any of you have any great resources you lurve?


Oh!  And I must share that I can't wait for this weekend.  I have a baby shower here in Birmingham and am so excited!  My mom, MC, aunt, grandmother and Coco's mom are all coming into town for it.  I can't wait to share pictures.  And don't worry - those finished pictures of our addition are coming soon.  I will get over my bare walls and unfinished decorating and finally snap some pics for you.

Target Tuesday

Birmingham just got a new Super Target and I have been itching to check it out (Note: we have other ST's but this one is NEW - so fresh and so clean clean). Supposedly it is the biggest Target in the U.S. After my first visit, this could be right. Ashley invited me to go with her Saturday morning to see how fabulous it might be. Fabulous it was. Yes, I was the freak taking pictures of random items throughout the store, items not necessarily for sale. I have no shame. And Ashley was a good sport. After we stopped in at Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte we were off to wander aimlessly through the aisles. I think we were there for at least 2 hours. A few pictures that captured our fun...

Yep, I took a picture of the buggies (no squeaks!). Yes, buggies. I live in the South - deal with it.

I can think of no better way to spend my Saturday morning (thanks Ash!). By the way, I am on the hunt for some fabulous leggings. And nope, I didn't find any at Target - I looked, trust me. Yes, I am taking the plunge. I cannot find a pair in my size that I like (I want the cotton kind with NO sheen). Any suggestions from my fellow leggin' sportin' bloggers?

Orange you glad?

The color orange is everywhere this fall. I was a bit skeptical at first but the more fabulous photos I see, the more I am warming up to the color. It is the perfect fall color and there are so many shades of orange you can easily find one that will work in your home. Check out the inspiration I found below from BHG.com.

Yes, we have returned back from the BIG CITY (as us southerns say) with shopping bags full and wallets empty. This post is for all the husbands who accompany their better halves to the city. The sis-in-law, MC & Wifey (aka Kiki) have informed me of a wonderful new slogan I learned from being in NYC. "There's no price that's too high for a wonderful pair of shoes." I came to this resolution very abruptly in NYC as Kiki and I were directed to a designer shoe outlet in the city by one of my mother's close friends. There are several things the wifey is addicted to: purses, DC's, and shoes to name a few. I knew immediately that I was going to be in trouble as we entered the place. I've attached the pic below for your reference...

As you can see, my immediate thoughts were CRAPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! Talk about a fish in a barrel moment. Each box contained a different pair of designer shoes. The store was no bigger than 15x20, yet it contained 3x's the normal amount of any average DSW. Within 5 minutes, Kiki had sighted 7 pairs worth trying on. I felt like I was part of the paparazzi as I was taking pictures and forwarding them to MC and her mother for instant approval. It was unbelievable to watch the people in the shop work, yelling out European shoe size conversions for Kiki (why can't they just use our size system? I mean really, why is everything so complicated over there). Need I say as they were doing this, they were hanging from a ladder throwing shoe after shoe down to her to try on. As any good husband would do at this point, I sat back smiled and most importantly kept quiet. It never ceases to amaze me how women try on shoes. Anyone ever been to a Target at the end of the day and cruised through the shoe section? If not, I suggest you do because you will enjoy the aftermath. It's quite amusing to see how they're ravaged over at the end of the day. We've often times been there close to closing time and Target calls the ENTIRE store in to rearrange the dept for the following day. Needless to say, we were almost getting to that point at the designer shoe place. I will say one thing about my Wifey that I'm proud of, it's her practicality. After she had all the pairs in front of her, she started narrowing it down to the most sensible choices. I commend her for doing so (Lucy does need new food this weekend). In the end, she we settled on 3 pairs. I've pictured them below. They are so SHISHE aren't they? In the end, I'm thrilled that we got to go away together for the first time in a while. It's always a blast to get to go on a trip with your best friend who happens to be your wife. To that I say I am looking forward to many more trips with ya babe....love, your hubby....

I HEART Shoes

While Coco and I were in Macon visiting his family we were able to steal away a few minutes to stop by my favorite spot, Ginger Michelle. They have great clothes, fabulous accessories (including their own line of handbags) and adorable shoes. I got lost in the shoes and snapped some pictures (with my trusty camera that stays at home in my purse)...and here are some of my favorites for the fall!

Etsy Find!

I have a throw pillow problem - I collect them and I don't think they were meant to be collected. I like to change them out with every season and it seems that every season I end up buying a few new ones to add to my collection. Oops. I use the same inserts (my fave are from Pottery Barn) and just buy new covers to freshen things up. I had to share with you my latest purchase for my fall/winter collection that I found on Etsy...

I L.O.V.E. this burlap Ampersand pillow. It arrived over the weekend while we were away and I was so excited when I came home to a package! Petit Coterie has some fabulous items and they leave no detail undone (the bottom corner of the pillow has a little silver guardian angel tied to it). You must check them out! I haven't quite decided where in my den I am going to put it. It looks so cute in my pin dot chocolate chair but it also looks comfy on my couch...maybe I need another one. Here we go again.

All this talk gets me in the mood to "switch over" my decor! Is it too early to decorate for fall? What day/month is acceptable? Isn't September 22nd the official first day of fall? Do I really have to wait until then? I want to get out my pumpkin spice candles and decorate with pine cones that smell like cinnamon! Hmmm...would tomorrow be too early?
