Before...

Coco found this great schoolhouse stool. I love the cool blue color but it was a little rough around the edges and doesn't quite go with the decor in our home. So I decided to use my trusty friend, Rustoleum Spray Paint in Satin Black, to update this little gem. Check out the before (okay, so I am new at this and didn't remember the before picture until after I had started the prep work - live and learn) and after.

Before

After

Whatcha think? I am not exactly sure where it will find its permanent home but for now it is resting comfortably in the kitchen. I am considering picking up another one...two is always better than one.

Ooh- that looks great! How is the prep work with rustoleum? Do you have to sand or anything first? I have a couple of cans that I bought for projects which are still sitting in my parents' garage.

I did very little prep work, just covered up the places I didn't want the spray paint to adhere to. It was super easy - I got a little heavy handed at first so be careful not to get it too thick in an area as it can get clumpy. I used Kilz primer spray paint first, waited about an hour and then applied the Satin Black spray paint. I have a chandelier I am dying to transform - we'll see how that goes! I hope this inspires you , I can't wait to read about it!
